One man's trash

...may look pretty tempting to another dude who happens to drive past it while it's sitting on the curb.
We cleaned out some of the garage last weekend. Hopefully we'll be painting it within the next few weeks. Some things we took to Good Will. Others were old, broken and kinda smelly, so we decided to throw them away. An old suitcase and a broken keyboard (the piano type, not the computer type) among other things.
Wednesday is trash day in Silver Oaks, so this morning we made our pile out by the street.
As I was getting ready for work, I noticed a burgundy Toyota Camry driving slowly down the street. It came to a stop right in front of the house. A dude got out and looked around suspiciously before picking up the suitcase, looking it over, and tossing it in the backseat. Then, he opened the top of the garbage can and pulled the keyboard out, adding it to the backseat collection.
He looked around one more time before slipping back into the car and driving away.

One time in Waco, Justin threw a broken DVD player in the dumpster and as he was walking off a man walked up and took it out. Of course, Baylor campus is not in the most desirable neighborhood in Waco. There were alot of trash diggers.

Okay, I'm going to try this again. For some reason I have trouble getting my comments to show on your blog. Probably God. Anyway -- it's called Dumpster Diving and one of my dad's friends is the king of it. The divers always take all our curbside trash. I've choosen to take it as a compliment.

That's funny. Trash day in Happy Valley is wednesday. I had to look again at your post to see how wednesday is spelled.

Seems like you were lucky this dude left you your trash can. Anyway, how does a keyboard (the piano type) get smelly?

We call them creepers. There are 2 or 3 different old trucks that scour the neighborhoods on big trash week, picking up stuff. Once, Aaron tore the gutters off our house since they were mostly off anyway, and before he even got them to the curb, a creeper asked to take them. Apparently they bring a pretty penny at the metal salvage!
