Notes to Self
Things I should bring to the lake:
1)sunblock
2)more sublock
Things that should be left at home:
1)wedding ring
2)engagement ring
The 4th of July was awesome! The weather all afternoon was beautiful. Unfortunately, I left my sunblock in my bag. By the time I realized I had forgotten it, I decided that, rather than go walk back up the hill to get it, I would just use the bottle on the dock.
SPF 15 = not that much protection from a blazing ball of fire.
My skin hurts. Mostly just my neck, shoulders and the tops of my arms. I won't complain too much, though. It was worth it. We had a blast tubing behind the boat as well as just floating around being lazy. The lake is beautiful! (I mean, it's not Shasta or Whiskeytown, but c'mon people, this is San Antonio!) I wish I had some pictures, but my camera was with my sunblock! :)
Now for the sad part. When I was about to jump in the water, I realized that my rings were still on. Since they are a little big, I didn't want to wear them in the water and risk losing them. Instead, I carefully tucked them into the pocket of my skirt, which I left on the table. I then proceeded to forget all about them...until it was too late. I'm not even sure where I lost them. They could be in the grass or they may well be on the bottom of the lake. I'm thinking about trying to find a metal detector so I can at least search the grass for them. Caroline (one of the LG leaders) said she'd meet me back out there. It might be hopeless, but I think I'll do it anyway. Maybe Friday night or Saturday so J can come with me!
Anyway, the rings aside, I had a great time. I only wish J could have come, too. He'll be home tomorrow...YAY!!
Hope y'all had a great holiday!

Man, that's a real bummer. I'm glad that you had a good time but I'm real sorry that you lost your rings. I wish that we could go to a lake. If you find any old coins with the metal detector, I'd be happy to take them off your hands. I just wish that your rings hadn't been.
That's so sad!!!! I'm so sorry you lost your rings. I'll pray that you might be able to find them when you go back to check.
I am really glad that you had fun though. It sounds great! Too bad we don't have a real lake!
Oops, that was supposed to be me! Bummer. Did you guess it was me anyway?
Wow, that sucks about your rings. Hope you find them. Keep us posted. Thanks for sharing your husband for a few days. Wish you could have come.
I won't even make a smart-aleck comment because that really is a sad loss. I hope you locate said items ASAP.
Sorry about your rings but I've gotta say, when I first started reading your blog, and I read the part about leaving your wedding rings at home, I was wondering what this "Life" Group of yours was all about. You know, Justin being gone and all.
I am so sorry about your rings. Hopefully, you can find them with the metal detector. I wish I had read the post prior to forgetting my sunblock and spending all day at the pool. My whole front side was pretty red this weekend.
I guess I will say it too, I am so sorry that you lost your rings. It is better for boys, because we only have one ring to lose. One ring to rule them all!
Love you Beene, good luck!
I'm sorry to hear about your rings...that's really upsetting. I'm also sorry for your sunburn, I have one of those too.
