The Shade of Poison Trees
Dashboard Confessional is putting out a new album October 2nd!!!!
I'm even more stoked about this one than the last one because, according to their email newsletter:
Sadly, many of you probably don't care. I expect that Kayla shares my enthusiasm and Chuck certainly would, if he was still a part of the wonderful world of Blogger. But alas, he is not.
So given the lack of shared excitement over this news, I will also post something of more interest.
We got a check today from the people who are set to lease our house. I guess this means we're actually moving. We've decided that I will stay here temporarily while J moves home and finds a (hopefully good) job. It doesn't make much sense for us to be unemployed at the same time. Also, if I stay a while, I can take a vacation to Vegas (I mean, Pahrump) in October. That will be the bong, because I will get to see my sisters, my brothers, my parents, hopefully my husband, and The Beautiful One known as Em.
But I'm off topic.
So while I'm here I will be living alone in a luxurious mansion. If mansion means 1 bedroom apartment and luxurious means basically empty aside from a computer, some camping chairs and an air mattress. Sounds rough, I know, but actually, the worst part will be living without Jay!!!
Anyway, if nothing throws off our plan, the movers will be packing out our house on Thursday and Friday. Oh, and I get to go to jury duty on Thursday. I've actually always thought it would be interesting to serve on a jury, but who knows if that will actually happen. Everyone I know that has gotten a summons for jury duty has ended up getting dismissed. I guess I'll see!
I think this post is long enough, so I'll wrap it up for now.
I'm even more stoked about this one than the last one because, according to their email newsletter:
"The album marks a notable return to the signature acoustic sound that Dashboard first developed on early albums like 2000’s The Swiss Army Romance and 2001’s The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most."Could this get any better? I submit that it cannot!

I will have to correct on the fact that you don't know anyone who has served on a jury. I was awarded that privilege a long time ago. I also have a failure to appear notice out for me too. We will keep Justin company until you get back
Hey thanks, I'll miss you too. And Happy early Birthday! Even though I really don't listen to the words, I still like Dashboard, that's sweet.
Peace Owt. Can't wait for the OG tomorrow.
It is now your birthday, 24 minutes into it here, but 2 hours and 24 minutes there, does that mean that you are older right now than you are right now????? It's a conundrum! Well, I am really excited that it is finally working out for y'all. I love you!
That is totally exciting!!!!! About the new DC cd I mean, although I'm sure the other news was good too but honestly, after I read that first paragraph my mind was too numb to process the rest of the post. I'm freakin' excited!!
Just thought you might like to know, both G-dad and I have had many jury summoms, and both of us have actually served more than once! It was interesting, but I don't particularly want to do it again.
Glad to hear someone is leasing the house. But does that mean you still own it, and will be responsible?
So I was finnaly able to read the rest of your post and I thought you should know that I've found the your news to be very exciting. Also, was it really your birthday? Happy Birthday then!
did you mean bomb? u could be excited to see your bong but that would be none of my business what you do on vacation. i'm actually thinking about commiting a felony so i never have to serve on a jury because from what i've heard it's no fun.
Ah yes. DC. Of course, their songs have pooped up in some places that even a grandfather might know. For example, "As Lovers Go" appeared in Shrek 2. "Vindicated" is featured in the Spider Man 2 soundtrack. The song "Stolen" was also used on episode 19, season 6 of 'Scrubs" as the final song of the episode in which Zach Braff's JD reflects on other characters around him in the bar and wishes that he was the one proposing to Elliot. Also, good news about the house, and good luck to Jay on his job search.
I saw that episode of Scrubs and was glad to hear the DC song playing on it. However, I do not remember "As Lovers Go' being on Shrek 2. Oh well.
