Tough Question?
Last night at Life Group, our "ice breaker" was to name one thing we've always wanted to do. I actually thought this was difficult. I mean, there are lots of things I want to do (i.e. go running, take a vacation (maybe Hawaii or Colorado), convince the rest of my family to move to Texas...) but to name just one? It seems like it has to be big. And impressive sounding. Maybe I just don't dream big. Or maybe I just can't think of things when I'm put on the spot.
Here are a few of the other answers:
Either way, now I pose the question to y'all: What is the one thing that you've always wanted to do?
Here are a few of the other answers:
- Take a trip to Australia
- Hike the Appalachian Trail (in segments)
- Go to Europe
- Go Skydiving
Either way, now I pose the question to y'all: What is the one thing that you've always wanted to do?

Yup, I can name something. I want to go to HI and see an active volcano. I'd like to hike near it and even fly over it in a helicopter to take photos. I want to see one in both daylight and nighttime. I don't want to fall in one nor have it burn off my eyebrows nor one of my ears so that my glasses would fall off or hang really crooked all the time.
I have always wanted to go to Madagascar (since long before the movie came out!). Maybe someday it will happen. What did you say at the actual "ice breaker event"? You simply must tell us!
I have always wanted to not be sick during my pregnancy!!!!
I want to go scuba diving. Maybe in Australia. It is supposed to be gorgeous there but then again there are alot of sharks there too. In reality, I am closer to going scuba diving in Mexico and it might actually happen if I stick to that.
I've always wanted to go to Hawaii and I get to this year. I want to go skydiving too but I'm not 18 for another year.
I have always wanted to go to Brazil, or Europe but that one was already said.
Instead of Skydiving, I would have to say I've always wanted to play professional soccer. That would be sweet.
Well, I have thrown around the idea of changing the blogging page to the home page and deleting the other one, I just wanted to keep it up there for a while, at least until the newness of the site wears off. I think after that though the page will become pointless and I will get rid of it.
That last comment could be taken as my thing I've always wanted to do couldn't it? Its not. The song lyric: The Fray. Right? Good stuff.
I agree with you Katie. It's hard to come up with what you've always wanted to do. I think it's the pressure that you might now want to do that most in the world or you'll change your mind. I've always wanted to live in Europe for while and learn to speak another language there. Won't happen...
Well, for a long time I just really wanted a dog..... but now I have Daisy!!!!! I agree too though. That's a hard one. And they always make it sound so difficult too.
But I mean, don't you think it's impossible to have something that you've ALWAYS wanted to do? Cuz, when you're two, you don't really sit around thinking, "ever since I was born I've wanted to go to Hawaii!" with a contenplative look on your face. But ever since July, I've really wanted to see ZJ!!!!
Hey, do you remember ever having some Paris Blues jeans that were a really dark blue and very stretchy? I think you must've.
Hey! Now that I've looked at everybody's blog (not that that made any difference, but just that I've had time to think about it) I've come up with something. But it's not really something that I can do just any time. Okay, so here it is:
When I get married, I want to wear my wedding dress on a nice beach somewhere! I've wanted to do that for a long time, though not really *always*. :)
I always wanted to comment on your blog at 3:42 p.m. on August 25, 2006. What do you know, I got my wish. To be serious: I'd like to go to either the Canadian coast or Alaska and see Orcas up close and personal
Your clock is off.
Its the awnrey streak in me that prompts me to leave this comment #4. Sorry Lauri :)
Katie, that is a "zinger"! And the comments are, too. We have lived longer than any of you (duh!!!) so we have actually done many of our dream trips, plus the desire to have a big, close family. (Well, close emotionally, anyway) But the one thing (after we get back from Alaska next month, which is still ahead of us) I have always wished for is a trip to Great Britain...England, Scotland, and Ireland. We have plans...but no date!!
Love you. Let us know what you actually wrote...or did you?
I shan't be outdone!
I just can't I tell you!!!
You know, I for one do not think it very nice of us to use your blog and as our personal platform for competition. therefore, I will take the hi road and stop all this right now.
Thats hiGH not hi as in hello.
It would be very tempting for that last person to leave another comment and get ahead in this competition thats apparently going on. They must have really good character to not do such a thing.
Lucky!!!!
