Nothing to post

Well we haven't really had a lot going on this week. I've been working some overtime since J hasn't been working. Not exactly fun, but at least it's available. I went in for a few hours this morning and I think it's easier to work O/T on Saturdays than to stay late during the week. J starts his new job with Pizza Hut on Monday!
We are puppy-sitting Jack again. It's his parents' 1 Year Anniversary, so they are in Austin for the night. They said Jack wanted to stay with his Aunt and Uncle again! :) Anyway, he is getting a much needed quick bath right now.
As you may have read in J's blog, the house showed one day last week, but apparently those people decided they didn't want it. We had a showing scheduled for today, but that one got canceled. In other words, we have no new news there.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Learn from my mistake

Just because it's only 65* does not mean that you won't get sunburned.
In fact, I have an iPod shaped white spot to prove it!

I went running yesterday with my iPod in my armband. I'm in pain today. The picture is from yesterday, but I think the burn looks worse today. My face hurts, too.
I guess that's what happens when you get super white from being inside all day.

BTW, apparently "&" is not a valid character in the labels.

Yay! I'm a llama again!
wait...

San Antonio is pretty much just how we left it, but with more water in the ditches. While I'm glad to be back in my own bed (hooray for the king-size), I miss Emily! Really I miss everyone that we got to spend time with while in Redding.
It's strange how two places can be SO incredibly different, and yet both feel a little bit like "home" in their own way. I think our hearts are already in California, unfortunately our bills are in Texas and we haven't yet found a way to change that.

The cutest baby EVER

So I know I'm probably the last relative to post pictures of Emily, but that doesn't make her any less cute this time, so I'm going to do it anyway!

We had a great vacation. I got to hold Emily less than an hour after she was born, which was AMAZING! I can't believe she waited for me! :) She is absolutely adorable and cuddly and perfect. On Monday night I was holding her and rubbing the side of her teeny leg, and she smiled for me 4 or 5 times!
We also had fun seeing my family and spending some time with J's family. We want so badly to be able to move back so it won't always feel like we're so rushed for time.

Someone did show our house on Sunday. We haven't heard anything else. I have a feeling this means nothing will come from it, but J is ever the optimist. He says just keep praying! :)

Less than a day!!

It's a shame that little Emily is starting out so late, but I'm secretly a little bit excited that she will still be a teeny tiny newborn when I meet her. (That's a secret though, so don't tell Marla...I am merely stating the positive aspect of a clearly sucky situation for her.) I love you Marla! :)
I am trying desperately to get well right now. I don't want to be sick when I get to California, as I may not be allowed near Emily.
I woke up feeling yucky, but went to work anyway. I ended up coming home. It's not so much that I feel terribly sick, it's that my throat hurts and when I am talking (which I do pretty much constantly at work) it makes me cough, which is what is making my throat hurt to begin with. Is it just me, or do your fingers also try to type an "ough" combo when you mean to type the word "throat"?
Well, I am in the middle of doing laundry and packing. Our friend Todd is picking us up at 4:15 in the morning to go to the airport. Hopefully our ski bag will fit in his vehicle. :)

These are for you, Eisel...

Jack came over this morning. He is one of the cutest puppies I've ever seen, but he and I are already having issues. To put it nicely, it involves his bladder and my carpet. And also, he doesn't smell very yummy. But I am bigger than him, which means I win, so he is outside right now. :)
I can't get him to sit still long enough to get very good pictures, but I know Eisel wants to see, so here we go:

He looks a little mean in the first one. Matt plays a game where Jack attacks his sock and tries to kill it while Matt swings his leg back and forth. Apparently Matt wears baggy socks. I do not. So Jack bites my toes.
The other two you can see he's taken a liking to the coffee table.
Well, Eis, I guess that's it for now. Maybe I'll get a picture of him with J later. :)
